Don't neglect your lawn in the winter

If you didn't shut off your sprinkler system in the late fall, you were likely reminded to by a nice leak after the first freeze or two (speaking from past experience).  If you live in Colorado Springs, remember that we live in a 'high desert' type of climate and one tip toward having a nice green lawn in the spring is to be sure to get some winter watering on your landscaping; trees and lawn.  January is typically a pretty dry month around here so if you know your lawn is dry, try to hit it with some moisture.

I also found some great tips from this article.  Especially the one on not leaving debris, toys, the garden hose or other things laying in the yard that might 'smother' the grass.
